Today, Special Olympics Australia announced the team that will represent Australia at the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2023. The World Games is the largest inclusive sporting event on the planet.

At the 2023 World Games, 7,000 athletes with an intellectual disability from 180 countries will enjoy nine days of competition in Berlin, Germany from 17-25 June.

Team Australia will consist of 64 athletes who will compete across nine sports – athletics, basketball bocce, bowling, golf, equestrian, gymnastics, swimming, tennis – and they will be supported by 28 volunteer officials.

The officials are the team behind the team!
