They’ve Arrived

Team Australia have arrived! They are very tired after a long journey, but they are very excited to have completed the final leg to Berlin.

On the plane to Berlin, they were joined by Team Pakistan who have 97 athletes, 30 officials and will compete across 11 sports. We look forward to seeing them in competition at the World Games as we both represent the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Region.

Team Australia was greeted in style by volunteers and an exuberant Head of Delegation, Susie Bennett-Yeo who arrived in Berlin early to prepare for Team Australia.

After accreditation was picked up at the airport, the team hopped on the bus to Potsdam where the team were welcomed to Kongresshotel, Potsdam with a tasty reception dinner.

Tomorrow, after some well-deserved rest, they will begin their Host Town schedule of training in the morning and cultural excursions in the afternoon, including a cultural tour of picturesque Potsdam.
