Freezin’ for a Reason: Why I’m Taking the Polar Plunge for the Law Enforcement Torch Run

Would you jump into freezing cold water… on purpose?

I am. And I’m doing it with pride because it’s not just about the cold. It’s about courage, community, and a cause that’s close to my heart.

This year, I’ve committed to taking the Polar Plunge, a unique and adrenaline-pumping fundraiser that supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics. While I may shiver on the outside, inside I’m fired up — because every dollar raised goes directly toward empowering Special Olympics athletes.

They say it takes a village and in this case, it might take a towel and a hot coffee too. But I’m proud to be part of a movement that values dignity, inclusion, and the power of sport. Thank you for supporting me, the LETR, and the amazing athletes of Special Olympics.

So yes… I’ll be jumping into freezing water.

Because freezin’ is just a small price to pay for a reason this big.

I’m taking the plunge to help create a world where people with intellectual disabilities and autism can shine through sport, feel the joy of inclusion, and know they truly belong.

Every shiver, every splash — it’s all for them.
