2026 National Games

This year, Special Olympics Australia proudly marks its 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of breaking barriers, building communities and creating opportunities for people with intellectual disability and/or autism to belong and thrive through sport.
Since 1976, the movement has grown across Australia, supporting thousands of athletes, coaches, volunteers and families. From local playing fields to national and world stages, Special Olympics Australia has championed the power of sport to transform lives, fostering confidence, connection and inclusion both on and off the field.
There is no better way to mark this 50-year milestone than with our biggest national event.
From 19–23 October, athletes from every corner of the country will come together in Melbourne, competing across 12 sports at the iconic Albert Park sporting precinct.
The 2026 Special Olympics Australia National Games will be a celebration of courage, connection, and community, shining a light on the power of inclusion. Whether it’s on the track, in the pool, or cheering from the sidelines, the Games are a reminder of what’s possible when we come together to support each other.

Support - Redlands Athletes going to Nationals 2026

At Special Olympics Redlands Club, we believe in the power of inclusion through sport.

Children and adults with intellectual disability and/or autism have the ability to be confident, healthy, and courageous—just like anyone else. Sometimes, they just need the right support and opportunities.

That’s where we come in.

Through year-round sports training and competitions, we empower people with intellectual disability and/or autism to build physical fitness, develop friendships, and discover their potential - all while having fun.

Support our Club today and help create a more inclusive and active community for everyone.

Your donation helps us make this possible.
