The 2025 LETR Polar Plunge will take place at various locations around Australia in July and August 2025.
Event organisers
The Event is being organised by Law Enforcement Torch Run programs registered across Australia in conjunction with Special Olympics Australia (ABN 18 284 781 056).
Event details
Participants will jump or run into cool waters at the various locations across Australia, which may involve a degree of physical exertion or physical risk. Each participant will need to consider their own abilities and/or disabilities and determine if it is safe for them to participate.

By clicking “I agree” or by participating in the event, you agree to these terms. Please read the terms carefully.
- You are over the age of 18 or you are the parent or guardian of a child between the age of 12 and 18: You confirm you are either over the age of 18 years old and agree to participate in the event, or you are the parent or guardian of a child between the ages of 12 and 18 and agree to their participation in the event. If you are a parent or guardian, where applicable, references to ‘you’ in these terms will extend to your child.
- You know there are potential risks: You understand there are potential risks, dangers, and hazards if you participate in this event, which may cause serious bodily injury or physical harm, including the risk of serious and permanent injury. You are participating in this event at your sole risk.
- You confirm you are healthy and can participate: You confirm that: (a) you are in good health and proper physical condition to participate in the event; (b) you do not have an abnormal, unusual or unreasonable risk of, or are not susceptible to, physical injury; and (c) if you do feel well or are in any way sick on the day of the event, you will not participate in the event.
- You agree to seek clarification: If you do not fully understand these terms, the event or any activities connected with the event, you agree to ask for additional information or clarification.
- You are responsible for your property and yourself: You agree that you are responsible for your property and person while attending the event. You assume all risks associated with your participation in the event, including risk of injury or bodily harm while participating in the event.
- You are liable for any losses resulting from your participation in the event: You are liable for any risks, dangers, and hazards associated with your actions at the event.
- You must comply with lawful instructions: You must follow lawful instructions from event staff (including employees, agents and volunteers).
- You must indemnify the event organisers: To the extent permitted by law, if the event organisers (including its officers, directors, employees and agents) (those indemnified) incur any loss as a result of your participation in the event, or failure to comply with these terms or any instructions, you must indemnify (reimburse) those indemnified for any loss incurred.
- You release the event organisers from any liability: To the extent permitted by law, you release those indemnified from any and all loss arising out of or in connection with your participation in the event, including illness, personal injury or adverse medical condition or state of health arising directly or indirectly from attending the event or participating in any activities at the event.
- You consent to your use of your image: You agree that the event organisers may use of your image in a photo or video for promotional materials, unless you request otherwise in writing. On your request, the event organisers will use best endeavours to remove your image from any promotional materials but you understand that in some circumstances the event organisers may not be able to remove your image (for example, where it has already been published).
- Code of conduct: At the event, no form of harassment will be tolerated in any form. You must not engage in any sexual harassment of any kind, be disruptive, be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, bully, stalk or threaten anyone, engage in homophobic, racist or discriminatory behaviour or take any photos that are unwanted or intrusive. The event organisers reserve the right to remove any person from the event that violates these terms.
- Additional terms: If any term or provision of these terms are held by a court to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable under the applicable law, that term or provision will be severed from these terms and the remaining terms and conditions will be unaffected.
