Special Olympics gives people with intellectual disabilities (ID) the confidence they need to succeed, on and off the playing field.
Special Olympics athletes from Melbourne Inner East are scheduled for a staged return to sport with from Saturday 27 June. Sporting opportunities include aquatics, athletics, basketball, bocce, football (soccer), Tennis and tenpin bowling.
These individual and team sports provide meaningful training and competition opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes receive continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts.
