In June, 64 Aussie athletes with an intellectual disability did Australia proud when they competed at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin.
Our champions competed in nine sports - athletics, basketball, bocce, bowling, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, swimming, tennis - alongside 7,000 athletes from 190 delegations.
They came home as world champions with 63 medals - 15 gold, 22 silver and 26 bronze - plus 43 place awards (4-8).
