SOWA National WA athletes Training Camp

June 12th -14th we arrived at Woodman Point Recreation Camp in Coogee, WA.
Morgan and I had our own room together and the bottom bunks. We were glad.
We got up early in the morning 6am hoping the showers had hot water! Got ready to go to breakfast 7:30am
We had team building session and sports practice and some optional group activities throughout the day.
This was a great way to meet other athletes that will be going to Melbourne too for their sports as well as the officials and medical staff. 
It was a fun weekend and I saw some old friends and met some new friends.
Melbourne here we come!

This Bocce Girl is freezin’ for a reason!

This year, I’m taking the plunge - literally. I’m jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds for Special Olympics in Australia.

Why? Because every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings and so do I! I love playing Bocce with Special Olympics. I've made good friends.

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. Through sport, athletes build skills, friendships, independence and belief in themselves - and that impact extends far beyond the playing field.

By supporting my Polar Plunge, you’re helping:

  • Provide coaching, equipment and competition opportunities
  • Create communities where everyone belongs
  • Break down barriers and build a more inclusive Australia
