The WA BOCCE TEAM!

Here is the team that will travel to Melbourne in October for Bocce.

We are all working hard on Saturday mornings at the Laguana Italian Bocce Club in Dianella!

We arrived at Training Camp

June 12-14th we arrived at Woodman Point Rec Camp in Coogee, WA.
Lauren and I were roomies which is always fun.
We were up at 6am each morning and off to bed by 10pm.
This was a great bonding time to meet all WA Special Olympic Athletes atttending the National Games in October.
I met up with some old friends and met new friends. Got to know the officials and medical team.
We had bocce training/practice, group activities, talent night ( I told some funny jokes) and a whole lot of fun.
It was a great weekend and we are all fired up to take the polar plunge July 11th (watch for photos in a few weeks) and more excited for October National Games!
Thank you all who have given to my funding raising goals.
I have now reached the half way goal of $4000! Yahoo.


Special Olympics Training Camp

The second weekend in June I will go to Special Olympic Training Camp. I will get to meet all WA athletes from all the sports participating at the National Games in Melbourne in October. I am excited to meet new friends and to train and get my best game going! Thank you again for all those that donated so far on my fundraising page. It means alot to me!
Oh, and my best friend made the Bocce team too. Her name is Lauren (see photo). There are 2 girls and 2 guys on our National Bocce team. :)

I’m freezin’ for a reason! I am going to the National SOA Games!!!

This is my first year to jump in icy waters! , I’m taking the plunge - literally. I’m jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds for Special Olympics in Australia.

Why? Because every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings. I do...I play on the Special Olympics WA Bocce team and I'm on the National team going to Melbourne in Oct. to compete. I am so excited! 

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. Through sport, athletes build skills, friendships, independence and belief in themselves - and that impact extends far beyond the playing field.

By supporting my Polar Plunge, you’re helping:

  • Provide coaching, equipment and competition opportunities
  • Create communities where everyone belongs
  • Break down barriers and build a more inclusive Australia

Yes, it will be cold … very cold. But it’ll be worth it!
