We don’t just play the game, we change the game.
Special Olympics Australia is so much more than sport. It’s a movement grounded in the belief that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves the opportunity to thrive.
While some go on to represent Australia on the world stage, for many, the impact happens closer to home on local courts, fields, and clubs where they build confidence, friendships, and purpose.
But that impact doesn’t happen by chance. It happens because of people like you.
Mikaela's Story: From Local Slopes to the World Stage
Mikaela Williams, a 20-year-old alpine skier from Hampton, Victoria, exemplifies the power of inclusion.
Training alongside her brothers, she developed resilience and determination. Her dedication led her to represent Australia at the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy, where she proudly earned a silver medal.
Mikaela's journey underscores how access to inclusive sports programs can transform lives, instilling confidence and a sense of achievement.

Your generosity can change lives
Help athletes discover their potential
Across Australia, athletes with intellectual disability and/or autism are showing us what's possible when they're given the chance to shine.
Sport is more than just a competition; it's a place to belong, to lead, and to grow. With your support, athletes can train with confidence, connect with their community, and discover how far they can go.
Your gift helps create inclusive opportunities where every athlete is valued, supported, and celebrated.
When you give, you're not just helping athletes play sport—you're helping them find their voice, their confidence, and their community.
With your support, we can open more doors for athletes to grow, compete, and shine on and off the field.
