THE POLAR PLUNGE

For the first time this July, I will be taking part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge. I have been selected to represent team Victoria for gymnastics at the Special Olympics National Games in October this year and the money raised will help get me there. 

The water in July will be cold … very cold but I’m up for the challenge!

Being an athlete and part of the Special Olympics community for the past 4 years has made a huge difference in my life. It’s allowed me to meet new people and further develop my love for gymnastics in an inclusive and welcoming environment. 

I am very excited for the next step in my gymnastics and not only having the opportunity to compete at Nationals but to make new friends.

I’m freezin’ for a reason!

This year, I’m taking the plunge - literally. I’m jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds for Special Olympics in Australia.

Why? Because every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings.

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. Through sport, athletes build skills, friendships, independence and belief in themselves - and that impact extends far beyond the playing field.
