I’m freezin’ for a reason!

Earlier this year, I started volunteering with Special Olympics Redlands and have been incredibly lucky to meet such an amazing group of athletes, families and volunteers. Sport has always been a big part of my life, and being involved with an organisation that creates inclusion and opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism is something that is incredibly close to my heart.

It’s about so much more than competition, it’s about connection, community and giving people the opportunity to thrive.

This year, 36 incredible athletes from our club will be travelling to Melbourne to compete at the 2026 National Special Olympics, and I’m doing my part to help get them there.

To support their journey, I’m taking the plunge and participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge to raise funds for Special Olympics Australia.

Special Olympics provides year-round training and opportunities through sport, where athletes develop skills, build independence, create lifelong friendships and discover what they’re capable of.

Every dollar raised will help provide:

• Inclusive sporting programs and opportunities

• Coaching, equipment and competition experiences

• Support for athletes to compete and represent their communities

• A more inclusive Australia where everyone has the chance to belong

The plunge will be cold but if it helps create inclusion and reduces barriers to participate it will be more than worth it.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be incredibly grateful. Your support will help create opportunities for these amazing athletes to continue doing what they love and represent our community on the national stage.
