I joined the SA SO Swim group in 2025 it is supportive and I have heaps of fun. The regular training help me compete in Surf Life Saving competitions I recently went to the Aussies Surf Life Saving Championships and competed as a Adaptive athlete I done really well and was the first SA representative I believe the swim group helped me achieve this goal. This year, I’m taking the plunge - literally. I’m jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds for Special Olympics in Australia.
Why? Because every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings.
Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. Through sport, athletes build skills, friendships, independence and belief in themselves - and that impact extends far beyond the playing field.
