I attended the Polar Plunge!!

I was really nervous — I’d never done anything like this before. When I got there, no one warned me just how freezing it would be. I knew it was winter, but the cold was unbelievable. I stood and watched scared and shaking  and in that moment I realised I wasn’t ready. So I made the tough decision to step back instead of doing the plunge.

Even though I didn’t go through with it, I’m still incredibly proud of why I was there. I’ve been selected for the Victorian Special Olympics Basketball Team, my first time ever. I’m 15 years old, and this is my chance to work hard, grow, and show everyone what I’m capable of.

Getting to the competition costs a lot more than I expected. I’m doing everything I can at home to help raise money, but I still need support to make this dream possible. Any donation, big or small, would mean so much and help me represent Victoria.

I’m freezin’ for a reason!

This year, I’m taking the plunge - literally. I’m jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds for Special Olympics in Australia.

Why? Because every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings.

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. Through sport, athletes build skills, friendships, independence and belief in themselves - and that impact extends far beyond the playing field.
