Spam Jam

OUR TEAM NAME

Jim named our team.  In 2016 Leon and Jim decided to spend a small inheritance on a trip to Hawaii.  It was lots of fun and much to experience.  Our last day there we discovered that Waikiki has a festival each year called Spam Jam - honouring all things to do with Spam.  We went, we saw and we bought the TShirt.  

We’re freezin’ for a reason!

This year, I’m taking the plunge - literally. I’m jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds for Special Olympics in Australia.

Why? Because every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings.

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. 

We have been involved with Special Olympics since 1996 and throughout that time, we’ve made lots of friends and had some wonderful experiences.  Leon and Jim have achieved a lot – tried their hand at a number of  different sport and both have represented at State and National level, making lots of friends and memories along the way.

The guys have both run with the LETR and Jim took part in the inaugural Global run in Australia in 2007, so this is very close to their hearts.

Yes, it will be cold … very cold. But it’ll be worth it!
