I’m freezin’ for a reason! Representing Team VIC for the Special Olympics National Games

This year, I’m taking the plunge - literally. I’m jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds to attend the 2026 Special Olympics National Games.

It has been an honour to be selected as part of Team VIC for the 2026 Special Olympics National Games which will be held in Melbourne Oct 19th-23rd.

Athletes Australia wide will be attending. To be selected I have competed in a number of Inter-Club and State Games over the last couple of years.

I was selected for the Athletics Team, and the Table Tennis Team, however have chosen Athletics as my competition sport. I will be competing in: shot put, turbo javelin, 100m run, and 4 x 100m relay.

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. Through sport, I have built skills, friendships, independence and belief in myself - and that impact extends far beyond the playing field.

Every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings.
