Hi Sharks,

Today we celebrate a huge milestone. Reaching $50,000. This was a target we talked about after last year’s campaign. We believed we could do it and so did our athletes.

From when we first joined up on April 20 this year we’ve been working towards it.

It was far away at the beginning but it was always something we thought we could get to.

Our athletes and supporters have worked really hard to raise this money. It will help some of them get to the National Games, for the ones not going this time it will subsidise registrations, uniforms, competition fees and essentially make what we offer more accessible- support for athletes with an intellectual disability and or autism achieve their best through the power of sport.

The athletes are at the centre of everything we do. We will continue to hear their voices, elevate their achievements and support their dreams.

We are Sydney South.

Hi Sharks,

We now have 43 Sharks in the team.

At the heart of everything we are a sporting club and this week we celebrate our most recent achievements.

Our golf team hosted a 9 hole comp. Fantastic results from all our Sydney South superstars and several winning drives, long putts and chip ins for par.

We also co-hosted State Swimming. 93 athletes from all over the State recording PB’s, winning medals and just living their lives as athletes.

Our guys are out there training and achieving week in week out and improving their lives through the power of Sport.

Let’s get behind them and the club that is proud to have over 180 athletes in the blue and green.

This week we’ve added some new members, some who are 3 time polar plunge veterans , and some braving the cold for the first time.

Our goal is the same, support our 180 Sydney South athletes achieve their best through sport. For some of our athletes that means heading to Melbourne for Nationals, for others it’s entering a local competition and for some it’s joining a team for the first time.

Their stories are all slightly different but the dream is always blue and green.

Hey SYDNEY SOUTH SHARKS 🦈

Well it’s been less than a week and we have already hit 4.5k.

What a great effort. Our little team is sure to grow and this is a shout out to all our club family to sign up. Last year we were able to support our athletes with uniform subsidies, trophies, competition entry fee subsidies, training and social events.

This year we want to do that and more. Help us support not just our National athletes but all of our over 180 Sydney South legends.

This year, we’re taking the plunge - literally. We’re jumping into icy water as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Polar Plunge, raising funds for Special Olympics in Australia.

Why? Because every Australian deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence and connection that sport brings.

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. Through sport, athletes build skills, friendships, independence and belief in themselves - and that impact extends far beyond the playing field.

By supporting our Polar Plunge, you’re helping:

Fund inclusive sports programs across Australia
Provide coaching, equipment and competition opportunities
Create communities where everyone belongs
Break down barriers and build a more inclusive Australia
