LETR Final Leg

What is the Final Leg?

From October 9, law enforcement officers from across Australia will join Special Olympics athletes to carry the Flame of Hope on its final journey to Melbourne for the 2026 Special Olympics Australia National Games.

Travelling through communities across the country, the Final Leg will raise awareness, celebrate inclusion and celebrate the achievements of Special Olympics athletes before the Flame of Hope is carried into the Opening Ceremony.

It is both a salute to the athletes who will compete at the National Games and a privilege for the law enforcement officers selected to carry the Flame alongside them.

Two teams. 30 stops. 10 Days. The Flame of Hope is on its way!
